Vodafone Business and HDI Assicurazioni sign a partnership to offer drivers greater protection and safety

HDI Insieme, a digital policy that rewards drivers for their virtuous driving, was developed in partnership with Vodafone Automotive. The solution includes a roadway assistance service in the event of an accident and a special app to monitor the vehicle and improve one’s driving.

Vodafone Business, thanks to Vodafone Automotive’s services, and HDI Assicurazioni, a member of the Hannover-based Talanx Group, signed a partnership to createHDI Insieme, a digital policy that offers drivers greater safety and protection by scoring data on vehicle use and their driving style..

Using on-board digital technologies and Vodafone Automotive’s digital insurance services, HDI Insieme better protects customers and optimises insurance risk adjustment. By recording data on travel and driving style (braking, speed and curve approach), policyholders may learn and improve their driving and the insurance company may create programs to reward good drivers.

The service – which will be available at all HDI Assicurazioni agencies starting 1 January – also includes a special app that drivers can use to connect to their vehicle remotely. The app tracks their vehicle on a map and sends an alert if it goes outside an established area. With the HDI Insieme app, drivers may also access their travel history, find out what their driving style is and receive suggestions on how to improve their safety or alerts when their vehicle exceeds a speed limit they have set.

Developed by HDI Assicurazioni and Vodafone Business, this solution also includes roadway assistance in the event of an accident or need for help. By connecting and geo-localising the vehicle, a request is sent (manually or automatically) to the Vodafone Automotive Safety Command Centre. The command centre operator contacts the driver and, if necessary, calls for immediate assistance. If the driver does not answer the phone, the operator uses a digital reconstruction of the accident to decide what type of assistance is needed. In the event of a claim, the digital transmission of data via the HDI Insieme service speeds up the process.

Vodafone Business has developed an end-to-end solution for HDI Assicurazioni, with an enhanced customer experience and safety services for people and vehicles, all within a design framework for devices, connectivity and the digital platform, enabling a connected, integrated ecosystem in which insurance customers feel protected and that they are receiving the assistance they need.
